The Most Fashionable Family in California

The Parker family from California was determined to become the most fashionable family in the neighborhood.

For Sunday brunch, Dad wore designer sunglasses—even though they were eating inside.

Mom arrived in enormous high heels and announced, “Fashion requires sacrifice!”

Their teenage daughter, Bella, wore ripped jeans that cost more than Dad’s first car.

Grandpa looked at the holes and asked, “Did you buy those jeans—or survive a bear attack?”

Bella rolled her eyes. “Grandpa, distressed clothing is fashionable.”

Grandpa nodded thoughtfully, disappeared into his room, and returned wearing an old shirt covered in paint stains, torn gardening trousers, mismatched socks, and a dusty cowboy hat.

The whole family stared at him.

Mom whispered, “Dad, what on earth are you wearing?”

Grandpa smiled proudly and said, “My new California designer collection. I call it ‘Too Broke to Care.’

Just then, a famous fashion blogger walking past spotted Grandpa through the window, rushed inside, and cried, “Sir, your look is authentic, fearless and revolutionary! May I photograph you?”

The next morning, Grandpa was featured on the cover of a fashion magazine.

Dad stared at the headline and groaned, “We spent thousands trying to look fashionable—and Grandpa became a style icon wearing clothes we were about to throw away!”

Grandpa adjusted his dusty hat and delivered the final punchline:

“That’s the secret of California fashion: if your clothes look ridiculous, just wear them confidently—and double the price!”
