“I’ll give two dollars to the student who can tell me who the most famous man in history was,” the teacher announced.
An Irish boy raised his hand eagerly. “It was Saint Patrick!”
“Good guess, Sean, but not quite,” the teacher replied.
Then a French boy chimed in. “It must be Napoleon!”
“Another strong answer, Pierre, but still not the one I’m looking for.”
Finally, a quiet boy in the back raised his hand and said confidently, “It was Jesus Christ.”
The teacher beamed. “That’s absolutely correct, Maurice! Come on up and collect your two dollars.”
As Maurice took the money, the teacher smiled and said, “You know, Maurice, I’m surprised you said Jesus—given that you’re Jewish.”
Maurice shrugged and replied with a grin, “I knew it was Moses… but hey, business is business.”
