After being widowed for several years, 72-year-old Mr. Thompson decided it was time to remarry.
The only problem? He had three grown children who treated him like a national treasure and panicked every time he mentioned being lonely.
One Sunday, he called them all over for dinner.
After dessert, he stood up, cleared his throat dramatically, and said, “Kids, I have an important announcement.”
The room went silent.
“I think it’s time I got married again.”
His daughter nearly dropped her coffee.
His eldest son gasped, “Dad! Are you serious?”
His youngest son asked, “How are we supposed to know if this is really what you want?”
Mr. Thompson smiled.
“Well, I’ve already prepared a signal.”
“A signal?” they asked.
“Yes,” he replied. “If you come to visit and see a red rose on the porch, it means I’m dating.”
The children nodded.
“And if you see two red roses?”
“It means I’m engaged.”
The kids exchanged nervous glances.
His daughter finally asked, “And what if we see three red roses?”
Mr. Thompson grinned and said:
“Then turn around and go home… because it means we’re on our honeymoon and I finally figured out how to get some privacy from my children!” 😂🏡💍🤣
