Three retired Texas ranchers—Earl, Buck, and Leroy—went to watch a bullfight while vacationing in Mexico.
The matador strutted into the ring wearing tight trousers, waved his cape, and dodged a charging bull by barely an inch.
Earl whistled. “That fella’s got courage!”
Buck nodded. “And a tailor who knows more about him than his doctor does.”
Leroy took a sip of beer. “Don’t see what’s so impressive. I face something meaner every time I come home late.”
Just then, the bull charged again. The matador jumped behind a wooden barrier so fast his fancy hat flew off.
Buck slapped his knee. “Now THAT looks like Leroy coming home!”
During the interval, the announcer offered five hundred dollars to any spectator willing to enter the ring and wave the cape.
Earl shook his head. Buck suddenly became fascinated by his shoes.
But Leroy stood up.
His friends stared.
“You’re eighty-two!” Earl whispered. “You can’t outrun that bull!”
“Don’t have to,” Leroy said. “I’ve got a system.”
He entered the ring, planted his boots in the dirt, and waited.
The gate opened. The bull lowered its head.
Leroy immediately dropped the cape and sprinted for the fence, leaving one boot and his dentures behind.
After they hauled him to safety, Buck gasped, “What happened to your system?”
“Works perfectly at home,” Leroy wheezed. “Whenever something starts snorting and charging, I throw money on the floor and head for the back door.”
Earl frowned. “Then why didn’t you throw the five hundred?”
Leroy looked horrified.
“Are you crazy? My wife’s outside holding my wallet!”
Buck leaned over the fence and shouted to the announcer:
“Keep the bull in there, partner—we’ve got a more experienced fighter coming!”😂🤣
