During a routine operation, Dr. Miller, a veteran surgeon nearing retirement, was working alongside Kate, a young adult nurse with a sharp sense of humor.
“Forty years in surgery,” he said proudly, “and these hands are still as steady as ever.”
“Very impressive, Doctor,” Kate replied. “My last date couldn’t even get the key into his front door.”
Dr. Miller raised an eyebrow. “You should date a surgeon. Excellent coordination, remarkable stamina, and a thorough understanding of anatomy.”
“Are you offering medical advice or asking me out?”
“That depends. Do you like older men?”
“I like men who can make my heart race.”
“Perfect. I own a convertible.”
“Does it go fast?”
“No, but the passenger door opens unexpectedly.”
Kate laughed behind her mask.
“Tell me, Doctor—when was your last romantic adventure?”
“Just last weekend. Candlelight, champagne, soft music. I even got down on one knee.”
“To propose?”
“To retrieve a cork.”
“And what happened next?”
“My date leaned over and whispered something I’ll never forget.”
Kate moved closer. “Something naughty?”
“‘Shall I call an ambulance, or can you get back up yourself?’”😂🤣
