A new caregiver started work at a retirement home and was told,
“Only press the red emergency button if it’s a real emergency.”
On her very first day, she heard an elderly gentleman shouting,
“Help! Help! Somebody, please help!”
She sprinted down the hallway, slammed the red button, and within seconds nurses, doctors, security guards, and even the administrator came running.
Breathless, she asked, “Sir, what happened? Are you alright?”
The old man smiled and pointed at the television.
“I can’t find the remote.”
The administrator sighed, handed him the remote, and everyone started leaving.
As they walked away, another resident called out,
“Since you’re all here… could someone settle the biggest argument in this place?”
The administrator asked, “What’s that?”
The resident grinned and said,
“Whose hearing aid is whistling… and why is the owner the only one who can’t hear it?” 😄
