A Canadian family was having breakfast when the father opened the fridge and gasped.
“We’re out of maple syrup!”
The whole house fell silent.
The mother whispered, “Stay calm… the kids don’t know yet.”
But it was too late.
The youngest son looked at his pancakes and asked, “Dad… are we… American now?”
The grandmother slowly stood up, put on her winter coat, and said, “I’ve survived blizzards, blackouts, and your grandfather’s driving… but I never thought I’d live to see this day.”
Just then the teenage daughter walked in holding a bottle she’d hidden in her room.
“I was saving this for an emergency.”
The father hugged her with tears in his eyes and said,
“You’re officially the favorite child… don’t tell your brothers—they’re already looking for asylum in Quebec!” 😄
