A guy was sitting in a bar looking completely miserable when his friend asked, “What happened to you?”
He sighed and said, “That’s it. My marriage is over. I’m getting divorced.”
“Divorced?!” his friend asked. “What on earth happened?”
The man took a long drink and began…
“Last week was my birthday. I woke up expecting at least a little excitement. But my wife didn’t say a single word. No ‘Happy Birthday,’ no hug, nothing.”
“Ouch,” the friend replied.
“It gets worse,” the guy continued. “My parents forgot too. My kids acted like it was just another Tuesday. I went to work feeling completely invisible… and even my coworkers ignored it.”
“Man, that’s cold.”
“Right? So I walk into my office already depressed, and suddenly my gorgeous secretary smiles and says, ‘Happy Birthday, boss!’”
The friend grinned. “Ahhh… now it gets interesting.”
“Oh, it definitely did,” the man said. “She took me out for a fancy lunch, laughed at all my jokes, kept touching my arm… I was feeling like the king of the world again.”
“No way.”
“Then she whispered, ‘Why don’t we continue the celebration at my apartment?’”
The friend nearly spit out his drink. “You lucky dog!”
“So we get there,” the man said, “and she pours me a drink. Soft music playing. Candles lit. Then she smiles and says, ‘I’ll be right back… just wait here for one minute.’”
The friend leaned forward eagerly. “And then?!”
The guy buried his face in his hands.
“She came back five minutes later… carrying a giant birthday cake…”
“And?”
“And behind her were my wife, my parents, my kids, my friends, and half my office screaming—”
“SURPRIIIISE!!!”
The friend burst out laughing. “That’s amazing!”
“Amazing?” the man groaned. “I was sitting on the couch completely naked.”😂🤣
