A priest and a nun are riding their bicycles along a country road.
Suddenly, a massive truck barrels past them, swerves, and knocks the priest’s bike into a ditch. The priest is okay, but his bike is completely mangled.
The driver, a rough-looking man, jumps out of the truck and rushes over. “Oh, Father! I am so, so sorry! I’ll pay for everything! Please, you must let me make it up to you—come have a drink at my place!”
The priest, still shaking a bit, sighs and says, “Well, it was an accident, and I suppose forgiveness is the right path. I’ll come for a drink.”
They go to the man’s house, and the priest has a stiff whiskey. He starts to feel better. Then, the man brings out another, then another. After an hour, the priest is feeling quite merry.
Suddenly, the man realizes he’s late for an appointment and runs out the door, leaving the priest alone. The nun, who had been waiting outside on her bike, walks into the house to check on him.
She finds the priest sitting in the living room, laughing to himself, completely sloshed.
“Father!” she exclaims, horrified. “What on earth are you doing? Have you forgotten your vows? You’ve been drinking whiskey!”
The priest looks up, grins ear to ear, and shouts, “Sister, get off your bike and have a drink! The man who hit me is a genius!”😂
