At Sunday dinner, Linda and her daughter-in-law, Sophie, began arguing over who understood Linda’s son, Jake, better.
“I’ve known him since his first breath,” Linda declared.
“And I know what he does with his last clean pair of underwear,” Sophie replied.
Linda turned to Jake. “Tell your wife who taught you to cook!”
“You did, Mom.”
Sophie folded her arms. “And who taught you that cooking includes washing the pans afterward?”
“You did, sweetheart.”
His mother leaned forward. “When you were frightened at night, whose bed did you climb into?”
“Yours, Mom.”
Sophie smiled. “And whose bed would you like to climb into tonight?”
Jake stopped chewing.
“Well?” both women demanded. “Whose side are you on?”
He carefully put down his fork.
“Dad’s.”
His father immediately stood up, grabbed two beers, and said, “Excellent. I’ve been waiting thirty years for backup.”😂🤣
