The Old Man’s Watermelon Trick And The Pawnbroker’s Expensive Mistake

An old man is selling watermelons from a small roadside stand. His hand-painted price sign reads: **1 for $3, 3 for $10.** It seems simple enough, and the old man sits quietly behind his table, watching customers come and go.

A young man walks by and asks for a watermelon.

“That’d be three dollars,” says the old man.

The young man hands him the money, takes the watermelon, and starts to walk away. Then he stops, turns around, and looks at the old man again.

“I’ll take another one.”

“Of course,” says the old man, handing him another watermelon. “Three dollars.”

The young man pays, takes it, and walks a few more steps before turning around again.

“You know what? I’ll take one more.”

“Three dollars,” the old man says calmly.

The young man pays for the third watermelon and finally walks away, looking extremely pleased with himself. A few seconds later, he turns around, smiles proudly, and calls back to the old man.

“Hey, old man, do you realize I just bought three watermelons for only $9?”

The old man looks at him for a moment, then smiles.

“Maybe business is not your thing,” the young man says with a laugh before walking away.

The old man watches him disappear down the road. Then he quietly shakes his head and mumbles to himself, “People are funny. Every time they buy three watermelons instead of one, yet they keep trying to teach me how to do business…”

LOL!! Hope this joke will make you smile!

Have a nice day!!

An Old Man Walks Up To The Counter Of A Pawn Shop

An old man walks up to the counter of a pawn shop carrying an old, weathered guitar. The instrument looks as though it has survived decades of use. Its wood is scratched, the finish is faded, and the neck appears slightly warped.

The old man carefully places it on the counter.

“I’d like your expert opinion on this guitar. How much do you think it’s worth?” asks the old man.

The pawnbroker picks it up and examines it from every angle. He runs his fingers along the neck, studies the faded lacquer, and points out every scratch and dent as though he is preparing to deliver a professional appraisal.

“Well, I can tell right now that there’s a little warping in the neck. The lacquer is faded, and there are scratches and dents all over it. It’s an old, well-played guitar, but I don’t think it’s worth any more than twenty bucks.”

The old man listens carefully without saying a word. Then he reaches out his hand and says, “Okay, if that’s what you think it’s worth, you have a deal!”

“Great!” replies the pawnbroker, shaking his hand. “Here’s twenty bucks.”

The old man takes the money, then pauses.

“Here’s the thing,” he says. “I’ll buy it right now!”

The broker stops.

His smile disappears.

For a moment, he just stares at the old man, completely confused.

“Wait… buy?” he asks.

“Yes!” smiles the old man as he turns the guitar over and points to a large sticker on the back.

“This one has a sticker price of $150. But now that I have your honest expert opinion, I think twenty bucks is a great deal.”

The pawnbroker looks at the sticker.

Then he looks at the old man.

Then he looks back at the guitar.

And suddenly, he realizes that he has just spent several minutes explaining exactly why he should sell the guitar to himself for a fraction of its asking price.

LOL!!
