The Taxi Driver’s “Golden Fare”

Every morning, a taxi driver parked outside the senior citizens’ community center instead of the airport.

His friend asked, “Why don’t you wait where the tourists are? That’s where the big money is!”

The driver grinned. “Tourists only ask for one destination. The grandmas? They give me a whole day’s adventure!”

Sure enough, an elderly lady climbed into the taxi.

“First, the pharmacy… then the bakery… then the bank… then my sister’s house… and if we have time, let’s slowly drive past my old school.”

Hours later, she finally reached home.

The driver smiled and said, “That’ll be $28.”

The old lady handed him $100.

“Oh my! You gave me too much!”

She winked and said, “No dear… the extra is for listening to all my stories.”

As she walked away, another taxi driver shouted, “How do you keep finding these wonderful customers?”

The driver adjusted his rearview mirror and replied…

“I don’t chase the fastest fare… I chase the ones who think the taxi comes with a grandson!” 🚖😂
