One evening, Grandma and Grandpa were sitting in the living room watching TV when their mischievous 10-year-old granddaughter Lily came skipping in with a huge grin.
“Grandpa,” she said, “I think there’s a lady in the neighborhood who has a crush on you!”
Grandpa nearly dropped his coffee.
“A crush on me?” he laughed. “At my age?”
“Yes!” Lily said. “She talks about you all the time.”
Grandma folded her arms and raised an eyebrow.
“Oh really? And who might this mystery woman be?”
Lily leaned in dramatically.
“She says you’re handsome, funny, charming, and the best man she’s ever known.”
Grandpa sat up a little straighter. Grandma looked less amused.
“Where did you hear all this?” Grandma asked.
Lily pointed at the kitchen.
“From you, Grandma! I heard you telling Aunt Sarah all of that yesterday.”
Grandpa beamed proudly.
Grandma blushed.
Then Lily added with perfect timing:
“And Grandpa, before you get too excited… she also said you’re impossible to live with, can’t hear a thing, and have been wearing the same sweater since 2012!”
Grandpa sighed and said,
“Now THAT sounds like my biggest fan.” 😆🤣
