On their fifth wedding anniversary, Mark decided to surprise his wife, Sarah.
He booked a luxury hotel suite, ordered flowers, chocolates, and even arranged a candlelit dinner.
When Sarah walked into the room, she was impressed.
“Wow, Mark! This is so romantic. What brought this on?”
Mark grinned proudly.
“Well, after five years of marriage, I thought it was time to bring back some excitement.”
Sarah smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
A few minutes later, Mark emerged from the bathroom wearing a brand-new silk robe.
He struck what he thought was a very attractive pose.
“So,” he asked confidently, “what do you think?”
Sarah looked him up and down.
“Honestly?”
“Of course.”
“You look exactly like the before picture in a weight-loss commercial.”
Mark nearly dropped his room key.
Trying to recover, he said, “Well, at least I’m still the man you married.”
Sarah nodded.
“That’s true.”
Mark smiled.
Then Sarah added,
“And just like five years ago, you’re still trying way too hard.”
The hotel staff later confirmed that the anniversary dinner was wonderful…
But Sarah won every single round of the conversation. 😂🤣
