Lizzie had always suspected her glamorous mother-in-law was hiding something.
Every afternoon, the older woman would disappear into her bedroom for an hour, lock the door, and come out smiling like she’d won the lottery.
One day, curiosity got the better of Lizzie.
The moment her mother-in-law left the house, Lizzie sneaked into the room looking for evidence of a secret lover. She checked the closet… nothing. Under the bed… nothing.
Then she opened the bedside drawer.
Inside was a small envelope stuffed with cash and a handwritten note that read:
“For emergency handsome plumber visits.”
Lizzie gasped.
That evening at dinner, she finally confronted her.
“Mother, I knew it! You’ve been secretly calling some handsome plumber while Dad’s away!”
Her mother-in-law calmly sipped her tea and smiled.
“Oh darling… the plumber only comes to fix things.”
Lizzie smirked. “Then why all the cash?”
The old woman leaned closer and whispered:
“Because after seeing your father shirtless for 40 years… I happily pay extra for someone worth looking at.”🤣😂
