Late one night, a husband sent a message to his wife:

“Hi, I’ll be late. Please try and wash all my dirty clothes and make sure you prepare my favorite dish before I return.”

There was no reply.

A little annoyed, he sent another text a few minutes later:

“Oh, and I forgot to tell you… I got a raise today. At the end of the month, I’m buying you a brand-new car.”

This time, her phone lit up instantly.

“OMG, really?”

The husband smiled and typed back:

“No. I just wanted to make sure you got my first message.”

Not long after, the same man came home one evening to find his wife of ten years furiously packing her bags.

“Where are you going?” he asked, shocked.

“To Las Vegas!” she snapped. “I found out there are men there who will pay me $500 in cash to do what I’ve been doing for you for free all these years!”

The husband stood quietly for a moment, absorbing this new information. Then, without a word, he opened the closet and began packing his own suitcase.

“What do you think you’re doing?” she yelled.

“I’m coming with you,” he replied calmly. “I just want to see how you’re going to survive on $1,000 a year.”

He zipped his bag, looked at her with a knowing grin, and added,

“That’s what you can do when you’re young and bright.”
