A blond, a brunette and a redhead were standing at the top of a steep cliff, looking down at the beach far below. The waves crashed against the rocks, and the wind howled around them. Suddenly, a genie appeared out of nowhere and said, “I will grant you each one wish if you’ll jump off the side of this cliff.”
The redhead looked down, took a deep breath, and decided she was ready. She ran toward the edge, leaped into the air, and shouted, “Seagull!” Instantly, she transformed into a seagull, spread her wings, and soared safely away over the ocean.
The brunette watched in amazement. Feeling confident now, she stepped forward, ran toward the edge, and jumped. As she fell, she shouted, “Whale!” In an instant, she transformed into a giant whale, splashed into the sea below, and swam away through the waves.
Finally, the blond smiled nervously and prepared to make her wish. She ran toward the cliff edge, but at the very last second, her foot caught on a rock. She stumbled, lost her balance, and went tumbling over the edge. As she fell toward the beach below, she screamed, “Shit!”
A brunette, a redhead and a blonde all worked in the same office with the same female boss. Every day, they noticed their boss left work early. At first, they thought she simply had a busy schedule, but after watching it happen day after day, their curiosity began to grow.
One afternoon, the three women decided that when the boss left, they would leave right behind her. After all, she never called in or came back to the office when she left early, so how was she to know? The next day, the moment they saw their boss collect her things and walk out, they quietly followed.
The brunette was thrilled to be home early. She did a little gardening, enjoyed the extra time in her yard, and went to bed early, pleased with herself for getting away with it.
The redhead was equally delighted. She was able to squeeze in a quick workout at the health club before meeting her dinner date, congratulating herself on having discovered the secret to getting out of work early.
The blonde was very, very happy to be home early too. She walked into the house expecting a quiet evening, but as she approached the bedroom, she suddenly heard a muffled noise coming from inside.
She froze.
For a moment, she stood completely still, listening. The sound came again. Her heart began pounding as she slowly, quietly, reached for the bedroom door. She cracked it open just enough to see inside—and was absolutely mortified to discover her husband in bed with HER BOSS.
Her stomach dropped.
She immediately realized why her boss had been leaving work early every day, and suddenly the three women’s little plan seemed far more dangerous than she had imagined. Ever so gently, she closed the door without making a sound, slipped out of the house, and spent the rest of the evening trying to decide whether she should confront them or pretend she had seen nothing.
The next day at coffee break, the brunette and redhead were already excited about repeating their little escape. They turned to the blonde and asked if she was coming with them.
“NO WAY,” she exclaimed, her eyes widening at the memory. “I almost got caught yesterday!”
The brunette and redhead stared at her in confusion.
The blonde simply shook her head and said, “Trust me. You two have no idea what kind of trouble you might walk into if you leave early today.”
