Some friends and I tried a fancy new restaurant and noticed something odd—the waiter had a spoon in his shirt pocket.
Strange… but then the busboy came—he had one too.
We looked around… every single staff member was packing a spoon like it was part of the uniform.
Curiosity got the better of me.
“Why the spoon?” I asked.
The waiter smiled proudly.
“Well sir, the owners hired consultants. After months of analysis, they discovered spoons are the most dropped item—about 3 per table per hour. So now we carry spares to save trips and increase efficiency.”
Impressive.
Right on cue, I dropped mine—and boom—he swapped it instantly like a magician.
I was genuinely impressed… until I noticed something else.
A string hanging out of his fly.
I glanced around.
Every waiter had the same string.
Now I had to ask.
“What’s with the string?”
He leaned in and whispered,
“Same consultants, sir. They found we waste time in the restroom. So now we use the string to, uh… pull things out… without touching. Saves time and eliminates the need to wash hands.”
I froze.
“Okay… but how do you put it back?”
He grinned.
“Well… I don’t know about the others…”
“…but I use the spoon.” 😳😂
