I discovered my 15-year-old daughter was chatting online with an older man. I was furious, but my wife was strangely calm.
“It’s just a phase,” she said. “You’re overreacting.”
Something about her tone felt wrong. I decided to find out who this man was. After some digging, I located his address and went there myself.
The moment I stepped inside his house, my stomach dropped.
On the wall was a large framed photograph of him standing with a woman, smiling, arm around her waist.
The woman was my wife.
The truth hit me like a physical blow. This wasn’t a stranger preying on my daughter. This was my wife’s lover.
It turned out she had been using our daughter’s social media accounts to communicate with him, believing I would never suspect anything. When I confronted her, she didn’t deny it. She simply said she was in love with him and wanted out of our marriage.
