My Husband Brought a Struggling Woman Home—Then Her Final Question Left Me Speechless

A woman came home early from work one afternoon, expecting to surprise her husband with an unexpected lunch together.

Instead, the moment she stepped through the front door, she froze.

Standing in their living room was her husband—and beside him was a young, attractive woman she had never seen before.

For several seconds, she could barely process what she was seeing. Then anger exploded through her.

“You slimy, disrespectful pig! How dare you do this to me?!”

“I’m the mother of your children, and I’ve been faithful to you all these years! I want a divorce now!”

Her husband immediately raised both hands.

“Wait a second, my love. Please. Let me at least explain what happened.”

“All right,” the wife snapped, folding her arms and staring at him. “Let’s hear what you have to say for yourself.”

She glanced at the young woman, then back at her husband.

“But these are your last words.”

Her husband swallowed nervously before beginning his explanation.

“Today, when I left work and got in my car to head home, this woman asked me for a ride.”

“I noticed that she was very skinny and wearing worn-out clothes covered in muck and mud. She told me she hadn’t eaten in three days.”

“She looked worse for wear, so I took pity on her and let her into the car.”

“In my mercy for her, instead of taking her straight to where she needed to go, I brought her home first and warmed her up a plate of goulash—the same plate I made for you last night, which you didn’t eat because you said you’d ‘get fat.’”

The wife’s eyes narrowed, but she said nothing.

Her husband continued.

“She devoured it in seconds.”

“Since she needed to get clean, I offered to let her use our shower.”

The wife slowly turned her gaze toward the young woman.

The woman stood silently, looking almost embarrassed.

“While she showered,” the husband continued, “I noticed that her clothes were extremely dirty and worn, so I threw them out.”

“She needed new clothes, so I brought her the old jeans you no longer wear because they’re ‘too tight.’”

“I also gave her some underwear I bought you that you never wore because you said, ‘I don’t have good taste in clothes.’”

The wife’s expression hardened.

“And then,” her husband said carefully, “I found the shirt my mom bought you for Christmas—the one you refused to wear because you wanted to ‘piss her off.’”

“I gave her that too.”

“And I gave her the high heels you only wore once because you said, ‘Someone at work has the same pair.’”

The wife stared at him in disbelief.

For a moment, the room became completely silent.

The husband took a deep breath and continued.

“She was so grateful for my understanding and help. She thanked me for everything, and I walked her to the door.”

The wife’s anger had not disappeared, but now confusion had begun to replace it.

“So that’s your explanation?” she asked coldly.

“Yes,” he replied. “I was simply trying to help someone who had absolutely nothing.”

The wife looked again at the young woman, who stood there wearing her old clothes, her expression painfully innocent.

The husband continued.

“When I walked her to the door, she turned around with tears in her eyes and asked me something.”

The wife raised an eyebrow.

“What did she ask?”

Her husband paused.

Then he gave his wife a nervous smile.

“She looked at me and said…”

“You’re such a great person!”

The wife waited.

The husband finished:

“Is there anything else your wife doesn’t use?”
