Jennifer Eckhart Dead at 36: Former Fox Business Producer Later Advocated for Trauma Survivors
Jennifer Eckhart, a former Fox Business producer who went on to host a podcast and establish a project supporting trauma survivors, has died at 36.
Eckhart was found dead at her home in Florida on September 19. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office ruled her death a suicide. (people.com)
From Broadcasting to Survivor Advocacy
Born and raised in Miami, Eckhart worked as an ESPN Radio correspondent and an entertainment anchor for a public television station in Gainesville, Florida. She later joined Fox Business, where she worked as an associate producer during a seven-year career with the network. (people.com)
After leaving Fox, she hosted REINVENTED With Jen Eckhart, a podcast about difficult experiences and new beginnings. She also founded the Reinvented Project, which offered support to trauma survivors through animal-assisted healing. (people.com)
The Lawsuit Against Ed Henry
In 2020, Eckhart filed a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry and Fox News. She alleged that Henry had sexually assaulted her and that the network had failed to protect her. Henry denied the allegations. Fox News fired him in July 2020 after investigating a sexual misconduct complaint. (people.com)
A federal judge dismissed Fox News from the case in March 2025. Eckhart settled her lawsuit against Henry that June. Following the settlement, she spoke about her renewed commitment to helping fellow trauma survivors. (people.com)
