A doctor and his wife were having a big argument at breakfast. He shouted at her,
“You aren’t so good in bed either!”
Then stormed off to work.
By mid-morning, guilt began to gnaw at him. He realized he’d crossed a line. Wanting to make amends, he called home.
“What took you so long to answer?” he asked.
A pause. Then his wife’s voice came, sweet and calm:
“I was in bed.”
“In bed?” he stammered. “Why?”
“Oh, I was getting a second opinion,” she said — and hung up.
Laughter can turn almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful. Because sometimes, the best way to survive love’s storms… is to laugh through the thunder.
