Late one night, a burglar broke into a house. As he tiptoed through the living room, flashlight in hand, a voice suddenly echoed from the shadows:
“Jesus is watching you.”
Startled, the man froze. He swung his light around the room but saw nothing unusual. Shrugging it off as his imagination, he continued toward the back door.
But again, the voice came—clearer this time.
“Jesus is watching you.”
His heart pounding now, the burglar turned the flashlight toward the corner of the room. There, in a cage, sat a parrot.
The burglar sighed in relief and whispered, “Was it you who said that?”
“Yes,” the parrot squawked.
Chuckling, the burglar stepped closer. “What’s your name, little guy?”
“Clarence,” the bird replied proudly.
The burglar smirked. “What kind of people name a parrot Clarence?”
The parrot answered,
“The same kind who name their Rottweiler Jesus.”
Suddenly, a low growl rumbled from behind the sofa…
