Melania Trump shared three heartfelt words with an Army sergeant who danced with her at the inauguration.
After her dance with President Trump, the couple was joined on stage by members of the military. One uniformed officer stepped forward to dance with Melania, twirling her gracefully as she smiled radiantly.
During the Commander-in-Chief Ball, Melania danced with both her husband and another partner, enjoying the glamorous celebration. President Donald Trump had been sworn into office earlier that day, and the inaugural balls capped off the festivities in style. Melania wore an elegant Hervé Pierre white gown with a black-lined neckline, paired with a chic black choker.
The evening began with a slow dance between the First Couple, though some observers remarked on the awkwardness of their interaction. Speculation arose that Melania appeared “relieved” when she later danced with someone else.
The officer who danced with Melania was Sergeant Henry Waller. As they waltzed across the stage, President Trump also joined in, pairing with Sergeant Tatiana Saldana from the U.S. Space Force.
Melania and Sergeant Waller seemed to enjoy their time together, smiling and exchanging whispers during the dance. Waller later shared his experience with Inside Edition, expressing his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
“I walked out on stage trying to contain my composure,” he recalled. “But we were told it wasn’t ceremonial, so we could smile if we wanted to. I was overwhelmed with joy, hearing all the cheers.”
Waller asked Melania how her evening was going, and she replied it was “good.” When she asked him the same, he enthusiastically responded, “It was fantastic.”
