My Chemical Romance has requested “patience and understanding” following the passing of former drummer Bob Bryar.
Bryar, who was part of the band from 2004 to 2010 and contributed to their most iconic tracks, was found deceased at his home in Tennessee at the age of 44.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, a spokesperson for the band said, “The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing.”
Law enforcement reported no signs of foul play. According to TMZ, Bryar’s belongings, including weapons and music equipment, were untouched. His body was described as “badly decomposed,” and Animal Control removed two dogs from the property.
Bryar was last seen alive on November 4, and his cause of death remains under investigation.
He joined My Chemical Romance in 2004 and played a significant role in the creation of The Black Parade, helping to define the band’s sound. However, he left the group in 2010 due to internal tensions.
At the time of his departure, the band called the decision “painful,” releasing a statement that read: “As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same.”
