Former Dynasty & Days of Our Lives Actor Has Died At The Age Of 77

FORMER Dynasty and Days of Our Lives actor Wayne Northrop has died at the age of 77 after battling Alzheimer’s disease for six years.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Northrop’s publicist, Cynthia Snyder, who revealed that he passed away on Friday at the Motion Picture and Television Home in Woodland Hills, an assisted living facility for members of the entertainment industry.

In a statement, Northrop’s wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, shared: “He took his last breath in the arms of his family.

“We want to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible team at The Motion Picture and Television Home for their compassionate care.

“Wayne touched countless lives with his sharp wit and humor. He was a devoted husband of 43 years, an amazing father to his two sons, Hank and Grady, a dedicated rancher who cherished his cows, and a dear friend to many.”

Northrop was best known for his iconic role as Detective Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives, a character he played from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 1994.

His final IMDb credit was for a role in a 2004 episode of Cold Case.

Born on April 12, 1947, in Sumner, Washington, Northrop earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. He later took an acting class at Seattle Community College before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his career.

Northrop entered the film industry in the late 1970s, starting with small roles on television shows like Baretta and The Waltons. His breakthrough came in 1981 when he landed a recurring role in Dynasty, appearing in the pilot episode as Michael Culhane, the chauffeur to oil baron Blake Carrington, played by John Forsythe.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, and their two sons, Hank and Grady.
