A young nun went to speak with the Mother Superior, looking a little nervous.
“Mother,” she said quietly, “I’ve been struggling… I sometimes feel drawn to someone my own age. Someone kind, funny… you know… young.”
The Mother Superior nodded calmly. “Temptation is natural, my child. What matters is how you deal with it.”
The young nun sighed. “That’s the problem. Every time I meet someone like that, I remember my vows… and I walk away.”
The Mother Superior smiled gently. “That shows strength.”
The nun paused, then added, “Yes… but yesterday I met a really nice young man, and I almost didn’t walk away…”
“Oh?” the Mother Superior raised an eyebrow.
The nun nodded. “Yes… I only remembered my vows when he asked for my phone number.”
“And what did you do?”
“I panicked… and gave him the convent’s number.”
The Mother Superior blinked. “What happened next?”
The nun smiled sheepishly. “Well… now he’s coming on Sunday… to ‘explore a more serious commitment.’”
