Fired, Fighting, and Defiant: Pam Bondi Reveals Cancer Battle

Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has reportedly been diagnosed with thyroid cancer just weeks after being removed from her position by President Donald Trump, according to multiple U.S. media reports.

Bondi, 60, revealed that she received the diagnosis shortly after leaving the Department of Justice in April. She told CNN that she has already undergone surgery and is currently receiving treatment. Despite the health setback, Bondi said she is “doing well” and recovering steadily.

The former attorney general was dismissed by Trump earlier this year amid mounting political pressure and criticism surrounding her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and other controversial Justice Department matters. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche later stepped in as acting attorney general following her departure.

News of Bondi’s diagnosis surfaced as the White House announced her appointment to the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), where she is expected to work on artificial intelligence policy coordination alongside senior administration officials and technology leaders.

Supporters and former colleagues have publicly expressed encouragement for Bondi during her treatment. Katie Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, praised Bondi’s resilience on social media, saying she had been “quietly kicking cancer’s ass.”

According to medical experts cited in reports, thyroid cancer generally has a high survival rate when detected early, and Bondi’s prognosis is believed to be positive.
