A lady school teacher in her late 30s had a reputation for being very strict — especially about grammar.
Every day, she’d correct students:
“Say ‘I am going’, not ‘I is going!’”
“Proper tense, proper sentence!”
But lately… something had changed.
A new young male teacher joined the school — charming, polite, and very good at English.
Suddenly, she started visiting the staff room more often.
One day, she walked up to him and said nervously,
“Excuse me… can you help me with… sentence correction?”
He smiled, “Of course, ma’am. What’s the sentence?”
She blushed and said,
“I have been waiting for a husband since many years… but now I think… I am liking you.”
He laughed softly and said,
“Well, ma’am… grammatically, it should be:
‘I *have been waiting for a husband for many years… but now I love you.’”
She adjusted her glasses and replied confidently:
“Good… then correct this one too —
Will you marry me, or should I mark you absent forever?” 😄
