Priscilla Pointer \u2014 who starred in several films alongside her real-life daughter, actress Amy Irving \u2014 has died at the age of 100.<\/p>\n

The actress, who was known for her role in \u201cDallas\u201d and playing Amy\u2019s on-screen mom in \u201cCarrie,\u201d passed away on Monday at an assisted living facility in Ridgefield, Connecticut.<\/p>\n

Amy\u2019s brother, director David Irving, confirmed the details to\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday, April 29.<\/p>\n

Amy \u2014 who was Steven Spielberg\u2019s first wife \u2014 addressed her mom\u2019s death\u00a0on social media<\/a>, revealing she died in her sleep.<\/p>\n

Sharing several photos of Pointer over the years, the \u201cYentl\u201d\u00a0actress wrote, \u201cPriscilla Pointer, acclaimed stage television and film actress, and mother of David, Katie, and Amy Irving, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100 hopefully to run off with her 2 adoring husbands and her many dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy ended her tribute by saying, \u201cShe most definitely will be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post reached out to Pointer\u2019s rep for comment.<\/p>\n

Pointer starred as Rebecca Barnes Wentworth, the mom of Victoria Principal\u2019s character, Pamela Barnes Ewing, on the legendary \u201980s soap opera \u201cDallas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her time on the show ended in 1983 during the sixth season when the family jet her character was riding on collided with another plane while in the air.<\/p>\n

Pointer had a decorative Hollywood career, most notably playing the mother of several acting greats.<\/p>\n

Besides portraying Mrs. Snell in the Brian De Palma-directed classic 1976 horror \u201cCarrie,\u201d she starred as Diane Keaton\u2018s mom in\u00a0\u201cLooking for\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Goodbar\u201d\u00a0(1977),\u00a0Sean Penn\u2019s mother in\u00a0\u201cThe Falcon and the Snowman\u201d\u00a0(1985) and Kyle\u00a0MacLachlan\u2019s parent\u00a0in\u00a0\u201cBlue Velvet\u201d\u00a0(1986).<\/p>\n
