Crafters across 49 states may want to stock up on supplies as fabric and craft retailer Joann prepares to shut down more than half of its U.S. stores.<\/p>\n

In a statement to Media on Wednesday, the company announced plans to close approximately 500 of its 850 locations nationwide. This decision follows Joann\u2019s second bankruptcy filing in less than a year, after initially filing and going private in March 2024.<\/p>\n

Joann stated that the closures are part of an effort to “right-size its store footprint.”<\/p>\n

“This was an incredibly difficult decision, given the significant impact on our Team Members, customers, and the communities we serve,” the statement read. “Following a thorough evaluation of store performance and long-term strategic goals, we identified which locations will continue operating as usual.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
