Rising TikTok star Nahsiyah Turner \u2013best known as Siyah \u2014 has died in a shooting outside a Southern California mall. She was 17.<\/p>\n
The content creator, who boasted more than 310,000 followers on\u00a0TikTok, died of a gunshot wound to the chest on Jan. 18,\u00a0People reported.<\/p>\n
Police arrived at the Los Cerritos Center shopping center around 7:30 p.m. and found an unconscious woman inside a vehicle,\u00a0CBS News\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n
Upon examination, it emerged that Turner was unresponsive and not breathing. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
\u201cDeputies from the Cerritos station responded to the parking lot of the Cerritos mall in regards to a gunshot victim call,\u201d Lit. Steve DeJong, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s Homicide Bureau, told Los Alamitos High School\u2019s student newspaper,\u00a0the Griffin Gazette.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they got there, they observed a female juvenile, 17 years old, with a gunshot wound.\u201d<\/p>\n
DeJong added, \u201cAs far as the context and investigation, I can\u2019t elaborate. This investigation is going to go on for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n
