Francisco San Martin, an actor known for his roles in Days of Our Lives<\/em> and Jane the Virgin<\/em>, has died at the age of 39.<\/p>\n

San Martin, who portrayed Dario Hernandez on the long-running soap opera, was found by police at his Los Angeles home on January 16.<\/p>\n

While the Los Angeles County Coroner\u2019s Office has yet to confirm an official cause of death, reports indicate that the actor is believed to have died by suicide, according to the Hollywood LA News<\/em>.<\/p>\n

San Martin first appeared in Days of Our Lives<\/em> in 2011, playing a character initially introduced as a thief who later turned out to be an investigator. He appeared on the show for six months before his character moved to Argentina, later to be recast by Jordi Vilasuso in 2016-2017.<\/p>\n

In addition to his role on Days of Our Lives<\/em>, San Martin appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful<\/em> as Mateo, a groundskeeper, in 2017. That same year, he landed a recurring role on Jane the Virgin<\/em> as Fabian Regalo del Cielo, an estate manager involved in a brief and ill-fated romance with Gina Rodriguez\u2019s character. His character appeared in seasons 3 and 4 of the series.<\/p>\n

San Martin’s acting credits also include the acclaimed Steven Soderbergh film Behind the Candelabra<\/em>, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.<\/p>\n

Originally from Mallorca, Spain, San Martin was raised in Montana and began his acting journey in children\u2019s theater.<\/p>\n

Tributes have poured in, including one from his Days of Our Lives<\/em> co-star Camila Banus, who played his on-screen sister, Gabi.<\/p>\n
