Peter Yarrow, a member of the legendary 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary<\/em>, has passed away at the age of 86.<\/p>\n

Yarrow died on Tuesday following a four-year battle with bladder cancer, his publicist confirmed to The Guardian<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In a heartfelt statement, his daughter Bethany Yarrow said, \u201cOur fearless dragon is tired and has entered the final chapter of his magnificent life. While the world knows Peter Yarrow as an iconic folk activist, those of us who loved him knew the generous, creative, passionate, playful, and wise soul behind the legend\u2014just as his lyrics reflect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to his passing, Yarrow\u2019s children created a \u201cliving tribute\u201d website, inviting fans and friends to share messages, photos, and videos in his honor.<\/p>\n

The site also features updates from Yarrow\u2019s family, shared during his final days. In the latest post, dated January 3, Bethany reflected on their Hanukkah celebration, describing her father\u2019s enduring spirit.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeter is physically very weak, but his spirit remains strong, and his light grows brighter each day,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWe won\u2019t let the light go out! We love you, Peter!\u201d<\/p>\n

Yarrow, along with Paul Stookey and Mary Travers, helped form one of the most iconic folk groups in music history, known for their timeless songs and commitment to social activism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
