<\/p>\nBorn in Los Angeles to a showbiz family \u2013\u2013 his father, John Considine Jr. was an Oscar-nominated film producer for \u201cBoys Town,\u201d and his mother was the daughter of theater magnate Alexander Pantages \u2013\u2013 Considine got his start as a child actor in the 1950s, playing characters in Disney Television\u2019s \u201cMickey Mouse Club\u201d serials.<\/p>\n
His roles included Frank Hardy in a \u201cHardy Boys\u201d serial and Spin Evans in \u201cThe Adventures of Spin and Marty.\u201d In 2000, he returned to make a cameo appearance in a TV movie reboot, \u201cThe New Adventures of Spin and Marty.\u201d In 1959, Considine appeared alongside his future television father Fred MacMurray in the Disney film \u201cThe Shaggy Dog.\u201d<\/p>\n
A year later, the first season of \u201cMy Three Sons\u201d would premiere. The series starred MacMurray as widower Steven Douglas, as he raised his three sons following the death of his wife. Considine starred alongside Livingston as the youngest brother Chip and Don Grady as middle-child Robbie. Considine also directed, for the first and only time in his career, one of the episodes in the series, \u201cThe Leopard\u2019s Spots.\u201d<\/p>\n
The series was one of the most successful sitcoms of the 60s, running for 12 years. Considine, however, would leave after the fifth season, and his character was written out by having him marry his fianc\u00e9 Sally (Meredith MacRae).<\/p>\n

After leaving \u201cMy Three Sons,\u201d Considine made numerous guest appearances in various TV shows throughout the 60s and 70s, including \u201cThe Fugitive,\u201d \u201cBonanza,\u201d \u201cGunsmoke,\u201d \u201cIronside\u201d and \u201cMedical Center.\u201d He also had a brief but memorable scene in the 1970 Oscar-winner \u201cPatton,\u201d as a soldier slapped by George S. Patton (George C. Scott).<\/p>\n
Considine mostly retired from acting in the ensuing decades, working instead as a writer, photographer and automobile historian. Notably, he took the photo of Joni Mitchell that appears on her album \u201cBlue.\u201d He published several photography books such as \u201cThe Photographic Dictionary of Soccer\u201d in 1979, \u201cThe Language of Sport\u201d in 1982 and \u201cAmerican Grand Prix Racing: A Century of Drivers and Cars\u201d in 1997. He also occasionally wrote the \u201cOn Language\u201d column for The New York Times Magazine, filling in for regular columnist William Safire.<\/p>\n
Considine is survived by his son Christopher, wife Willett, two grandchildren, sister Erin and brother John Considine.<\/p>\n
