A police car suddenly pulled up in front of Grandma Bessie\u2019s house, and Grandpa Morris slowly climbed out of the back seat. In a barely audible whisper, he confessed, \u201cI wasn\u2019t lost… I was just too tired to walk home.\u201d Grandma Bessie stared at him for a moment, then looked at the policeman and burst out laughing. Apparently, after sixty years of marriage, Morris had finally discovered the easiest way to get a free ride home.<\/p>\n
An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary. They had married as childhood sweethearts and, after spending most of their lives raising a family and working hard, had eventually retired and moved back to their old neighborhood. For their anniversary, they decided to take a sentimental walk down memory lane and visit the places where their love story had first begun.<\/p>\n
Holding hands, they walked back to their old school. To their surprise, the building was not locked, so they cautiously stepped inside. The familiar hallways brought back a flood of memories. Eventually, they found the old classroom where they had once sat together as children. There, half-hidden beneath layers of paint and dust, was the old desk they had shared decades earlier. Jerry ran his fingers over the surface and suddenly smiled. He had carved the words \u201cI love you, Sally\u201d into the wood all those years ago. Sally touched the carving, and for a moment, they were young again.<\/p>\n
On their way back home, something completely unexpected happened. A large bag of money suddenly fell from an armored truck traveling down the road and practically landed at their feet. She put the money back into the bag, carried it upstairs, and hid it deep in their attic beneath several old blankets and boxes. Jerry kept insisting they were making a terrible mistake, but Sally simply told him to stop worrying. After all, they had been married for sixty years, and she was confident she could convince him of anything eventually.<\/p>\n
The next day, two police officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the missing money. When they reached the couple\u2019s house, they knocked firmly on the door. Sally answered with an innocent smile. One of the officers politely asked, \u201cPardon me, did either of you happen to find a bag that fell out of an armored car yesterday?\u201d<\/p>\n
Sally immediately shook her head. \u201cNo,\u201d she said calmly. Jerry stood behind her, looking increasingly uncomfortable. Then, without warning, he pointed toward the ceiling and said, \u201cShe\u2019s lying. She hid it up in the attic!\u201d<\/p>\n
Sally slowly turned around and stared at her husband as though he had completely lost his mind. \u201cDon\u2019t believe him,\u201d she said quickly. \u201cHe\u2019s getting senile.\u201d The two officers exchanged confused glances before turning their attention back to Jerry. One of them stepped closer and began questioning him.<\/p>\n
The officer said, \u201cAll right, sir. Tell us the story from the beginning.\u201d Jerry took a deep breath and prepared to explain everything. \u201cWell,\u201d he began, \u201cwhen Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday…\u201d The first police officer suddenly held up his hand, looked at his partner, and said, \u201cWe\u2019re outta here!\u201d Before Jerry could finish, both officers hurried back toward their patrol car. After sixty years of marriage, the police had apparently learned one important rule: **never get involved when an elderly couple starts arguing about money.**<\/p>\n
A truck was traveling slowly through town when the driver stopped at a red light. Suddenly, a blonde woman jumped out of her car, ran up to the truck, and urgently called out to the driver, \u201cMr., you\u2019re losing part of your load!\u201d<\/p>\n
The truck driver looked confused, glanced behind his vehicle, and then checked his mirrors. But before he could figure out what she meant, the blonde jumped back into her car and followed the truck down the road. A few minutes later, the truck stopped at another red light. Once again, the blonde jumped out of her car, ran up to the driver\u2019s window, and warned him, \u201cMr., you\u2019re losing part of your load!\u201d<\/p>\n
The driver was becoming increasingly puzzled. He looked underneath the truck, checked the back, and even glanced at the road behind him. But he still couldn\u2019t see anything wrong. The light turned green, so he drove on, while the blonde continued following closely behind him. Then it happened again. At the next red light, she jumped out of her car and hurried toward his window.<\/p>\n
This time, she repeated the exact same warning: \u201cMr., you\u2019re losing part of your load!\u201d The driver began to wonder if she was joking. But the blonde seemed completely serious. The same thing happened at the next stop, and then the next. Seven stops in total. Every time the truck stopped, the blonde jumped out, ran toward him, and delivered the same urgent warning.<\/p>\n
Finally, at the eighth stop, the blonde came running up to the truck driver\u2019s window once again. Before she could even say a word, the exhausted driver threw up his hands and shouted, \u201cMA\u2019AM, THIS IS WINTER IN MAINE! I\u2019M DRIVING A SALT TRUCK!\u201d The blonde froze for a moment, staring at him in complete silence. Then she slowly looked back at the enormous pile of salt spilling onto the road behind the truck.
