Little Johnny was sitting in class when the teacher announced that they were going to try something different to help everyone get to know each other a little better and practice their spelling skills at the same time. The first student raised her hand eagerly. \u201cMarcy,\u201d the teacher said. \u201cYou may go first.\u201d<\/p>\n
Marcy stood proudly in front of the class and said, \u201cMy father is a banker. B-A-N-K-E-R. And if he was here today, he would give us all a shiny new penny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kevin quickly raised his hand and stood up. \u201cMy father is a baker. B-A-K-E-R. And if he was here today, he would give us all a freshly baked cookie.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cVery good, Kevin,\u201d the teacher replied. \u201cThat sounds delicious.\u201d<\/p>\n
The class laughed happily as Kevin returned to his seat, and another student, Jeff, was called next.<\/p>\n
Jeff walked to the front of the room and confidently announced, \u201cMy father is an accountant. A-K\u2026 no, wait\u2026 A-C-K\u2026 no\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
The classroom became quiet as Jeff frowned, trying harder to remember the spelling. He looked at the board, then at the teacher, but the word seemed to have completely disappeared from his mind.<\/p>\n
Before he could attempt another guess, the teacher gently stopped him.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s all right, Jeff,\u201d she said. \u201cWhy don\u2019t you sit back down and think about it for a while? When you believe you know how to spell it, you can stand up and try again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jeff returned to his seat, still concentrating intensely, while the other students waited for their turn.<\/p>\n
Then Little Johnny raised his hand as high as he could, practically bouncing in his chair, hoping the teacher would call on him. The teacher noticed his excitement and smiled.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll right, Johnny. You may go next.\u201d<\/p>\n
Little Johnny proudly walked to the front of the class and announced, \u201cMy father is a bookie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The entire classroom burst into laughter, while Jeff buried his face in embarrassment. Even the teacher struggled to keep a straight face as she shook her head at Little Johnny\u2019s clever answer.<\/p>\n
Later that week, during Sunday school, the teacher announced a new lesson about kindness and generosity.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, Little Johnny,\u201d she said, \u201cI want you to memorize today\u2019s motto: \u2018It is more blessed to give than to receive.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Little Johnny immediately raised his hand.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, ma\u2019am,\u201d he said proudly, \u201cbut I already know it. My father says he has always used that as his motto in his business.\u201d<\/p>\n
The teacher smiled warmly, impressed by what she assumed was a lesson in generosity.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, how noble of him!\u201d she said. \u201cAnd what is your father\u2019s business?\u201d<\/p>\n
Little Johnny stood there proudly for a moment, then answered with complete confidence:<\/p>\n

The room fell silent for a second as everyone tried to understand what Johnny meant.
