Some incidents seem beyond explanation, filling us with confusion rather than answers.

It could be a bizarre tale from a reliable source or a disturbing situation we’ve personally encountered—such odd occurrences stay with us long after they happen.

Talking about them can bring comfort and serve as a form of healing, much like those in this article who shared their unsettling experiences with countless others online, hoping someone might have an explanation for what they witnessed.

My son once said, “Mommy, a big man comes to my room at night.

Tell him to go.”

I brushed it off, assuming it was just a child’s imagination or a nightmare. Weeks later, I woke up at 3 a.m. to a strange noise coming from his room.

I rushed there and found him sitting on his bed, staring out the window and talking softly to someone—or something—I couldn’t see.

I glanced over and saw what looked like a human figure standing in the lit-up room of the apartment across the street.

My heart pounded, but when I looked closer, I realized it was just the arrangement of a lamp and furniture casting a shadow that resembled a person. I exhaled in relief and sat beside my son, reassuring him that no one was coming into his room.

As he drifted back to sleep, I took one final look toward the window, making sure it was only a trick of the light.

But even after I convinced myself of that, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my son had seen something that night.

I was once sitting on the couch with my boyfriend when I suddenly heard the words, “I love you.”

Then my boyfriend replied, “I love you too.”

I was completely confused because I hadn’t said anything. My mouth was closed.

I remember hearing the words clearly and even feeling the vibrations of the sound, but I wasn’t the one who spoke, and neither was he.

The voice sounded feminine, coming from directly in front of my face, yet there was no one outside the window and no one else in the room with us.

It was one of the creepiest moments of my life.

I still think about it years later, wondering whose voice I heard.

I have incredibly vivid memories of a red and yellow snake-like creature made entirely of socks.

It had thin, bony arms and legs and a mouth that looked like a lamprey’s. It would appear in my mind with such detail that it felt completely real.

I now believe these were hallucinations, something I still struggle with, but I will never forget the way that strange creature looked.

Some memories fade with time.

That one never did.

When I was 4, while on a trip abroad, a man tried to buy me from my parents because I had green eyes and blond hair.

The man physically picked me up and tried bargaining with my dad as if I were an object he could purchase. My dad was a big man, and he immediately grabbed me back from him.

We left the area quickly, but I still remember the fear and confusion on everyone’s faces.

Even now, I wonder what might have happened if my father hadn’t been there.

When I was seven, I got into the wrong car at our campground.

I sat there calmly, waiting for my dad to return, assuming he was still packing up our campsite.

A man who wasn’t my father climbed into the driver’s seat and started the ignition. He was seconds away from driving away without realizing there was a child sitting in his car.

I asked my “dad” a question, and the man froze when he realized there was a seven-year-old girl in the back seat.

I screamed when I understood he was a stranger, apologized, and ran as fast as I could.

To this day, I still think about how easily a simple mistake could have turned into something much worse.

My ex-wife and I bought an older house built in the 1930s.

While renovating, we installed some baseboards in the basement, painted them, and left them there overnight to dry.

The next morning, we found something disturbing.

Two of the baseboards looked like someone had taken a sharp knife and dragged it down their entire eight-foot length. The mark had cut through the fresh paint, the old paint, the primer, and all the way down to the wood.

The damage was deep and deliberate.

It looked like someone had tried to destroy them.

The strange part was that it was only the two of us in the house.

There was no sign of anyone entering, no explanation for how it happened, and no reason anyone would have done it.

I was reading the book Think and Grow Rich.

In the book, it says something along the lines of how readers might notice something unusual while reading it.

I decided to take the book with me to a coffee shop downtown.

While sitting there, I reached a paragraph about a parent with a deaf child.

At that exact moment, a child sat down near me.

I didn’t think anything of it until his mother walked over and began communicating with him using sign language.

The timing was so perfect that it left me sitting there wondering if it was just coincidence or something more.

When I was in grade ten, my sister and I played with a homemade Ouija board.

We asked the usual questions, including the names of the “spirits” we were supposedly contacting.

The names we received were Aiden and Hannah.

Those names were both possibilities my parents had considered for me before I was born.

Neither my sister nor I knew that information.

When we eventually found out, we couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Maybe it was a coincidence.

But it was a very strange one.

My sister and I were home alone in the living room when suddenly it sounded like 1,000 plates came crashing out of the kitchen cabinets.

The noise was so loud and violent that we immediately looked at each other and ran.

We expected to find shattered dishes everywhere.

But when we reached the kitchen, everything was exactly as it had been.

Nothing was broken.

Nothing had fallen.

We opened every cabinet and searched through everything, trying to find any explanation for the sound.

There was none.

Even years later, we still get chills remembering that moment.

When I was a child, I lived in a house with a huge two-story entryway and a long staircase leading down to the entrance.

Across from the staircase was a large antique mirror.

One day, I was alone in the house. My mother and siblings had gone grocery shopping, and I was listening to music when I suddenly stopped and looked at my reflection.

That was when I saw myself in the mirror’s reflection walking down the staircase.

I froze.

I ripped my headphones off and turned around immediately.

But I wasn’t there.

No one was.

The staircase was empty.

I stood there staring at the mirror, trying to understand what I had just seen.

I still have no explanation for it.

My husband went missing when my son was only 5 months old.

Years later, when my son began talking, he repeatedly said that a bad man visited his room while we were all asleep.

We brushed it off as a child’s imagination.

Then, many years later, I found my husband’s vintage watch hidden behind a closet in my son’s room.

I panicked.

My husband had been wearing that exact watch on the day he disappeared.

When I asked my son about it, he couldn’t remember how it got there. He even insisted he had never seen it before.

My husband had suffered from deep depression for decades.

It has been almost 20 years now, and we have never seen him again.

But every time I think about that watch, I still get chills.

Because somehow, after all those years, it ended up in the one place I never expected to find it.

One time, I was in my backyard playing with a plastic toy dinosaur.

I loved that toy.

I tossed it into the air, expecting it to fall back down.

It never did.

I waited.

I searched everywhere.

The dinosaur was gone.

I never found it again.

Years later, I still remember standing there, staring at the sky, wondering how something I had thrown upward could simply disappear.

Years ago, I lived in an older house downtown with a roommate.

We both played guitar and had a nice setup in the basement. On the wall was an old mirror that had been there since before we moved in.

One day, I came home and noticed my roommate wasn’t there, even though he was supposed to be.

I went down to the basement and started playing guitar.

Then something caught the corner of my eye in the mirror.

I turned and saw what I can only describe as a cloudy shape rising slowly.

It wasn’t smoke.

It wasn’t dust.

It looked like something moving through the air.

I looked around the basement but found no explanation.

I was so frightened that I immediately put the guitar down, ran upstairs, and left the house.

I went to a nearby cafe to calm down until my roommate returned.

Strangely enough, I found him there.

He looked pale and shaken.

Before I could say anything, he told me about the “cloudy ghost” he had seen in the basement mirror about two hours earlier.

Neither of us had told the other what we saw.

And that was the moment we knew something truly strange had happened in that house.

I was home alone when I was 14.

My mom was grocery shopping, and my brother was at a friend’s house.

My phone rang.

It was my grandma.

She was screaming, “WHAT’S WRONG? WHAT’S WRONG?”

I tried to calm her down and told her everything was okay.

She said my mom had just called her repeatedly saying, “HELP, THE KIDS!”

A few minutes later, my mom came home and called my grandma back, convincing her that nothing had happened.

But my grandma was still terrified.

We went to her house because she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.

Then she showed us her caller ID.

Our phone number was there.

The call had come from our house.

But nobody had made it.

To this day, none of us knows who—or what—made that call.
