In a statement, they expressed gratitude for the care and support she received during her illness and requested privacy as they mourn her loss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Born on April 2, 1940, Penelope Keith began her acting career on the stage before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1963. Although she enjoyed success in theatre, it was television that turned her into a household name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Keith rose to national fame in 1975 as the impeccably proper and hilariously snobbish <strong>Margo Leadbetter<\/strong> in the hit BBC sitcom <em>The Good Life<\/em>.
