An Arizona Highway Patrol officer spots a Harley roaring down the highway well above the speed limit and pulls the rider over.<\/p>\n
The biker is an old-timer with a long gray beard, leather vest, and a grin that says he’s seen it all.<\/p>\n
The officer walks up and asks,<\/p>\n
“Sir, what’s your name?”<\/strong><\/p>\n “Fred.”<\/strong><\/p>\n “Fred… what?”<\/strong><\/p>\n “Just Fred.”<\/strong><\/p>\n The officer raises an eyebrow.<\/p>\n “Just Fred? Everybody has a last name.”<\/strong><\/p>\n “Not me anymore,”<\/strong> the old biker replies.<\/p>\n The officer is in a surprisingly good mood. Instead of writing a ticket, he decides to hear the story.<\/p>\n “Alright, Fred. How does a man lose his last name?”<\/strong><\/p>\n The old biker sighs and says,<\/p>\n “Well, son, it’s a long road. Buckle up.”<\/strong><\/p>\n “I was born Fred Johnson<\/strong>. Smart kid. Straight A’s. Went to college, then medical school. After years of hard work, I became a doctor.<\/p>\n So I was Fred Johnson, M.D.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n “After a while, medicine got boring. I wanted a new challenge. So I went back to school, studied dentistry, and earned another degree.<\/p>\n Now I was Fred Johnson, M.D., D.D.S.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n The officer nods.<\/p>\n Fred continues.<\/p>\n “Life was great… until I made one very bad decision.<\/p>\n I started fooling around with my dental assistant.<\/p>\n A few weeks later, she gave me VD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n So now I was Fred Johnson, M.D., D.D.S., with VD.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n The officer starts chuckling.<\/p>\n “Then the Dental Board found out about the scandal and took away my D.D.S.<\/p>\n Now I was Fred Johnson, M.D., with VD.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n “A little later, the Medical Board heard about it too. They took away my M.D.<\/p>\n Now I was just Fred Johnson… with VD.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n By now the officer is struggling not to laugh.<\/p>\n Fred leans closer and says,<\/p>\n “But the worst part was still coming…”<\/strong><\/p>\n “The VD eventually took away my Johnson<\/strong>…”<\/p>\n He pauses dramatically.<\/p>\n Then shrugs.<\/p>\n “And that’s how I ended up being… Just Fred.”<\/strong><\/p>\n The officer stood there in stunned silence for three seconds…<\/p>\n Then laughed so hard he forgot all about the speeding ticket and waved Fred back onto the highway.<\/p>\n As Fred fired up the Harley and rode away, the officer yelled:<\/strong><\/p>\n “Drive safe, Fred!”<\/strong><\/p>\n Fred shouted back:<\/strong><\/p>\n “Trust me, son… these days that’s the ONLY thing I can still drive!”<\/strong> \ud83e\udd23\ud83c\udfcd\ufe0f\ud83d\udca8<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" An Arizona Highway Patrol officer spots a Harley roaring down the highway well above the speed limit and pulls the rider over.
