Tom wanted to do something special for his wife, Lisa, on their anniversary.<\/p>\n
So he spent all week secretly learning how to cook a fancy dinner. He watched videos, bought expensive ingredients, and even practiced folding napkins into little swans.<\/p>\n
The big night arrived.<\/p>\n
Lisa came home and was shocked to find candles on the table, soft music playing, and Tom wearing an apron.<\/p>\n
“Wow!” she said. “You did all this for me?”<\/p>\n
Tom smiled proudly. “Every bit of it.”<\/p>\n
They sat down to eat.<\/p>\n
Lisa took one bite of the steak and politely asked, “Honey… did you follow a recipe?”<\/p>\n
“Of course,” Tom replied.<\/p>\n
“Then why does it taste a little… unusual?”<\/p>\n
Tom grinned.<\/p>\n
“Because I combined three recipes.”<\/p>\n
“Why?”<\/p>\n
“I wanted the best parts of each one.”<\/p>\n
Lisa raised an eyebrow. “Which recipes?”<\/p>\n
Tom pulled out his notes.<\/p>\n
“One was for steak, one was for lasagna…”<\/p>\n
“And the third?”<\/p>\n
Tom looked down.<\/p>\n
“A chocolate cake.”<\/p>\n
Lisa stared at him for a moment.<\/p>\n
“So that’s why the mashed potatoes are sweet?”<\/p>\n
Tom nodded.<\/p>\n
“And why there’s tomato sauce on the brownies?”<\/p>\n
Another nod.<\/p>\n
Lisa burst out laughing.<\/p>\n
“Well,” she said, reaching for another bite, “at least now I know what true love tastes like.”<\/p>\n
Tom smiled. “Really?”<\/p>\n
“Yep.”<\/p>\n
“What does it taste like?”<\/p>\n
Lisa grinned.<\/p>\n
