One evening at dinner, little Brady looked up from his mashed potatoes and asked,
\u201cDad\u2026 where did people actually come from?\u201d<\/p>\n
His father cleared his throat, leaned back proudly, and said,
\u201cWell son, first there was Adam and Eve. They had children, their children grew up and had children, and that\u2019s how the whole human race began.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brady nodded seriously like he\u2019d just unlocked the secrets of the universe.<\/p>\n
A little later, he wandered into the kitchen where his mom was sipping coffee.<\/p>\n
\u201cMom,\u201d he asked, \u201cwhere did people come from?\u201d<\/p>\n
She laughed and said,
\u201cOh sweetheart, millions of years ago humans evolved from monkeys and apes. Science, evolution, all that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brady\u2019s eyes went wide.<\/p>\n
Completely confused, he stormed back into the living room.<\/p>\n
\u201cDad! You lied to me!\u201d<\/p>\n
His father looked up from the TV.
\u201cWhat are you talking about?\u201d<\/p>\n
Brady said,

The father took a slow sip of his drink and smirked.<\/p>\n
