Working in sales is all about the “pitch,” but for Sarah, the inventory was getting a little dusty.<\/p>\n
Sarah was the top performer at a high-end boutique, but at 35, she was still a “limited edition” model\u2014completely untouched. She was starting to get worried that her “best before” date was approaching, so she complained to her coworker, “I don’t get it. I\u2019m great at closing deals at work, but in my personal life, I can’t even get a lead!”<\/p>\n
Her coworker laughed and said, “Sarah, the problem is you\u2019re treating your virtue like a luxury watch. You\u2019re waiting for the perfect collector, but the market is moving toward fast fashion!”<\/p>\n
The next day, a handsome regular came in and asked, “Sarah, I\u2019ve been looking at this display for months. Is there any chance of a discount today?”<\/p>\n
Sarah leaned over the counter, gave him a wink, and whispered, “Forget the discount. Today\u2019s a special promotion: The store is under new management, and for the right buyer, I\u2019m willing to waive the ‘delivery fee’ on a product that\u2019s never been out of the box.”<\/b><\/p>\n
The man grinned and asked, “Sounds like a high-value item. Is there a warranty?”<\/p>\n
