Their waitress, while taking another order at a table just a few paces away, noticed something so strange that she had to look twice. The man sitting at the couple\u2019s table was slowly, almost carefully, sliding lower and lower in his chair. At first, it seemed like he might just be reaching for something he had dropped. But then he kept going. Inch by inch, he slipped farther down until his shoulders disappeared below the edge of the table. The woman across from him didn\u2019t flinch. She didn\u2019t gasp, call his name, or even glance down. She simply continued sitting there as if nothing at all was out of the ordinary. The waitress felt a chill crawl up her spine.<\/p>\n
She kept one eye on the scene while finishing the other table\u2019s order, trying to convince herself there had to be a simple explanation. But by the time she turned back again, the man had vanished completely. Gone. Not a hand, not a shoe, not even the top of his head was visible anymore. It was as though he had melted right out of sight beneath the table. Even more unsettling was the woman\u2019s expression\u2014perfectly calm, composed, and unbothered, as though her dinner companion disappearing into thin air was just another part of the evening. Unable to ignore it any longer, the waitress made her way over, her voice cautious as she leaned in and said, \u201cPardon me, ma\u2019am, but I think your husband just slid under the table.\u201d<\/p>\n
