Last week, Dad had a stroke. My heart raced when I got the call. When I told my husband, he was at work preparing for an important meeting. I didn\u2019t know if he could make it in time, but before I could even finish the sentence, he canceled everything and rushed to the hospital. I watched him navigate traffic, anxiety etched on his face, desperate to be by our side. He stayed through every tense moment, making sure my family and I weren\u2019t alone, his presence a quiet shield of strength.<\/p>\n
Later, I went to my parents\u2019 house to get some things for Dad in the hospital. The house was eerily quiet, memories lingering in every corner. When I opened his drawer, my breath caught. Hidden among the neatly stacked papers were countless photos\u2014not just of family gatherings or my childhood\u2014but many of my husband, laughing, helping, and holding our kids.<\/p>\n
I know Dad only kept the photos that really meant a lot to him. That moment hit me like a wave. Over the years, he had silently watched, reflected, and grown to like my husband. Somehow, in his own reserved way, he had accepted him and even loved him.
