The joy of bringing my newborn baby girl home quickly turned to devastation the moment I stepped into her room. Her once beautiful nursery\u2014soft pink walls, a white crib, and shelves lined with plush toys\u2014had been completely destroyed. The walls were painted a suffocating black. The crib lay broken, splintered across the floor. Every toy was gone.
But it wasn\u2019t just the damage that shattered me\u2014it was why<\/em> it was done, and who<\/em> had done it.<\/p>\n

In the hospital, the steady beeping of monitors filled the room as I cradled my newborn daughter, Amelia. Her tiny fingers curled around mine, and I couldn\u2019t stop staring at her\u2014her delicate feet, her button nose, the peaceful rise and fall of her chest. After a long, painful C-section, holding her made everything else fade away.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s beautiful, Rosie,\u201d my husband Tim whispered, his voice thick with emotion.<\/p>\n

He told Janet to leave and made it clear she would have no place in our lives unless she accepted Amelia completely. No conditions. No excuses.<\/p>\n

After she was gone, Tim and I sat together and made a decision. I had recorded Janet\u2019s words\u2014the accusations, the hate, the destruction. We shared the video with our family. Then others shared it too.<\/p>\n
