When my seven-year-old daughter, Maren, came home from school in tears, barely able to catch her breath, my chest tightened in panic. Between sobs, she told me her teacher had said I regretted having her.<\/p>\n

I was furious.<\/p>\n

I grabbed my keys and drove straight to the school, heart pounding, every protective instinct roaring to life. I was ready to demand explanations, ready to defend my child with everything I had. But when I walked into the classroom, the teacher didn\u2019t look defensive or accusatory. She looked\u2026 careful.<\/p>\n

Without saying a word, she reached into her desk drawer and handed me a crumpled piece of paper.<\/p>\n

My world tilted.<\/p>\n

It was in my handwriting.<\/p>\n

A note I had written weeks earlier during a private breakdown\u2014never meant for anyone else\u2019s eyes. A single sentence, raw and ugly, scrawled in exhaustion: \u201cSome days I wish I never had her.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
