After forty years of marriage, Harold finally decided it was time to surprise his wife with the luxury vacation she’d always dreamed about.
One evening at dinner, he proudly announced,
“Margaret, pack your bags. Next month we’re flying first class to Italy!”
She nearly dropped her fork.
“Italy?! Harold, that trip costs a fortune! Since when do we have that kind of money?”
Harold leaned back with a smug grin.
“Oh, I’ve been secretly saving for years.”
Margaret narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
“Saving from where exactly?”
He smiled and said,
“You know that headache excuse you’ve had for the last twenty years?”
“Yes…?”
“Well… every time you said, ‘Not tonight,’ I put fifty dollars in a jar.”
Margaret sat there stunned for a second… then slowly smiled.
“That’s incredible,” she said. “But Italy still seems too expensive for just fifty-dollar deposits.”
Harold’s smile faded.
“What do you mean?”
She took a sip of wine and replied:
“Well… you didn’t think you were the only one contributing to the fund, did you?”🤣😂
