{"id":98412,"date":"2023-12-20T22:00:24","date_gmt":"2023-12-20T17:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=98412"},"modified":"2023-12-20T17:08:24","modified_gmt":"2023-12-20T12:08:24","slug":"former-chairman-drap-sheikh-akhtar-arrested-in-corruption-fake-degree-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/regional-news-pakistan\/former-chairman-drap-sheikh-akhtar-arrested-in-corruption-fake-degree-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Former chairman DRAP Sheikh Akhtar arrested in corruption fake degree case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Dec 20 (Online): Former chairman Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) Sheikh Akhtar has been arrested by FIA in fake degree and corruption case. <\/p>\n<p>FIA has arrested Sheikh Akhtar former chairman DRAP following the cancellation of his bail.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Shahrukh Arjmand of FIA Court central has cancelled the bail before arrest.<br \/>\nAccording to FIA, former chairman DRAP Sheikh Akhtar was facing Rs 2.5 billion corruption charges. <\/p>\n<p>As per FIA spokesperson Sheikh Akhtar had secured his appointment on post of CEO of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) on fake degree.<br \/>\nAccording to FIA spokesperson PhD degree presented by the accused in connection with his employment was found fake.<\/p>\n<p>FIA spokesperson said the accused remained as CEO DRAP during 2018 and 2019.
