{"id":97212,"date":"2023-12-02T21:30:26","date_gmt":"2023-12-02T16:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/?p=97212"},"modified":"2023-12-08T11:37:53","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T06:37:53","slug":"commerce-minister-visits-ksa-to-finalize-investment-related-part-of-gcc-fta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pni.net.pk\/en\/latest-business-news\/commerce-minister-visits-ksa-to-finalize-investment-related-part-of-gcc-fta\/","title":{"rendered":"Commerce minister visits KSA to finalize \u2018Investment-Related part of GCC FTA\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Dec 2 (APP): Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Pakistan\u2019s Commerce and Industries Minister, led an official delegation in Saudi Arabia comprising Secretaries of the Ministry of Commerce and Board of Investment (BOI) and officials from the Attorney General\u2019s Office.<br \/>\nHe held parleys with the GCC\u2019s Chief Negotiator to finalize the investment-related part of the GCC Free Trade Agreement (FTA), said a press release issued here on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The technical teams from the two sides held extensive discussions on the remaining details of the investment chapter, including investment protection and facilitation.<br \/>\nThey also discussed the potential impact of the FTA on bilateral trade and investment flows. \u201cThis is a major step forward in our efforts to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and the GCC.\u201d said Ejaz.<\/p>\n<p>The investment chapter is an important part of the agreement, and we are confident that we can reach an agreement soon.<br \/>\nThe GCC FTA is expected to boost trade and investment between Pakistan and the GCC.<br \/>\nThe agreement is also expected to create new jobs and opportunities for businesses in both regions.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides also discussed the possibility of holding a joint business forum shortly and to promote trade and investment between Pakistan and the GCC.<br \/>\nMr. Gohar Ejaz thanked the GCC for its warm hospitality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Dec 2 (APP): Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Pakistan\u2019s Commerce and Industries Minister, led an official delegation in Saudi Arabia comprising Secretaries of the Ministry of Commerce and Board of Investment (BOI) and officials from the Attorney General\u2019s Office.
